VA Imaging MER2-507-23GM-VA 1/2.5" Monochrome CMOS (OnSemi AR0521) Camera, 5 Megapixels, 2592 x 1944, 23 fps, Rolling Shutter, C-Mount, GigE Vision
GigE Vision Camera
The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup represents a category of industrial vision cameras equipped with a GigE interface. GigE remains the predominant connection standard for cameras in conventional machine vision setups. Currently, this camera model is offered without Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability. The Mercury 2 cameras incorporate advanced functions such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image reversal, and digital shifting. This particular model suits applications that meet the following criteria: - An industrial-grade camera
- Cable lengths up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and simple cable installation
- Compact dimensions of 29x29x29mm
- Optional hardware trigger support

MTBF, warranty & product life cycle
Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras hold TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a 3-year warranty. Each model remains available for a minimum of 7 years following its market release, with many models supported for significantly longer periods. Additional details on our product life cycle management are available in this article.
Monochrome industrial camera
A monochrome camera, also referred to as a black and white camera, provides benefits across numerous applications. While color cameras dominate the security sector, the industrial field leverages the advantages of monochrome sensors. These cameras exhibit heightened light sensitivity, deliver crisp images, and reduce data volume compared to color cameras. This makes them particularly suitable for image processing tasks. By carefully choosing the appropriate lighting wavelength and lens filters, specific product features can be emphasized, enabling the capture of high-contrast, high-resolution images with monochrome cameras.
Industrial camera without PoE
An industrial GigE camera lacking PoE receives power through the I/O connector. This standard GigE camera variant is more cost-effective and produces less heat. Due to fewer hardware components, it has a smaller form factor compared to PoE-enabled models. Using an industrial GigE camera without PoE always necessitates an I/O cable connection.
