GigE Vision Camera OnSemi AR0521

The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup represents an industrial vision solution equipped with a GigE interface. GigE remains the predominant interface for cameras in conventional machine vision setups. Currently, this camera model does not support Power over Ethernet (PoE). The Mercury 2 series includes sophisticated functionalities such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image reversal, and digital shifting. This particular model suits applications that meet the following criteria:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable lengths up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Compact dimensions of 29x29x29mm
- Optional hardware trigger capability

MTBF, warranty & product life cycle

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras hold TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a 3-year warranty. Each model remains available for a minimum of 7 years following its market release, with many models supported for significantly longer periods. Color industrial camera

Industrial color cameras utilize a Bayer filter array to generate color images. The RGB color value for each pixel is computed by combining the pixel s own value with those of its adjacent pixels. This process results in images that are generally less sharp compared to monochrome cameras.
Because of the RGB filter overlay, each pixel captures approximately 66% fewer photons under white light conditions than a monochrome sensor, reducing overall light sensitivity. To address this limitation, consider the following adjustments:
- Enhance illumination intensity
- Increase camera gain
- Extend shutter speed or exposure duration
- Choose a sensor with higher light sensitivity
- Use a lens optimized for greater light transmission
Industrial color cameras are preferred for applications where color data is essential.

industrial GigE camera without PoE

Power for an industrial GigE camera lacking PoE is delivered through the I/O connector. This standard GigE camera variant is more cost-effective and produces less heat. Its design is more compact than PoE-enabled models due to reduced hardware requirements. Using an industrial GigE camera without PoE always necessitates an I/O cable connection.
