GigE Vision Camera IMX287

The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup represents an industrial-grade vision solution featuring a Gigabit Ethernet interface. GigE remains the prevalent connection standard for cameras in conventional machine vision systems. The Mercury 2 models incorporate sophisticated capabilities such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image reversal, and digital shifting. This particular model is suitable if your requirements include:
- An industrial-grade imaging device
- Cable runs up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable setup
- Compact dimensions of 29x29x40.3mm
- Support for optional hardware triggering

For further technical information, please refer to the industrial GigE Vision camera manual.

MTBF, warranty & product life cycle

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality protocols. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (approximately 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras carry TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a 3-year warranty. Following their market launch, each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years, with many models supported for significantly longer periods. Monochrome industrial camera

A monochrome camera, commonly referred to as a black and white camera, offers distinct benefits across various applications. While security sectors often prioritize color imaging, industrial environments leverage the sensitivity and clarity of monochrome sensors. These cameras exhibit heightened light sensitivity, deliver crisp images, and reduce data volume compared to color cameras, making them ideal for image analysis. By choosing the appropriate lighting wavelength and lens filters, specific product features can be emphasized, enabling the capture of high-contrast, high-resolution images with monochrome cameras.

Industrial camera with PoE

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for GigE cameras allows both electrical power and data transmission through a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies cabling and shortens installation time in setups that do not require hardware triggering or I/O connections. For applications necessitating I/O, powering the camera via an I/O connector is recommended. Cameras powered by PoE consume more energy and generate additional heat compared to those powered through I/O connectors. PoE-enabled GigE cameras are physically larger due to an extra PCB that isolates Ethernet power from the data signal and converts voltage levels. This additional hardware increases the cost relative to non-PoE variants. The primary benefit of PoE is streamlined installation, as fewer cables are needed.
