VA Imaging MER2-041-302GC-VA 1/2.9" Color CMOS (Sony IMX287) Camera, 0.4 Megapixels, 720 x 540, 302 fps, Global Shutter, C-Mount, GigE Vision Output
GigE Vision Camera IMX287
The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup features an industrial-grade vision camera equipped with a GigE connection. GigE remains the predominant interface for cameras in conventional machine vision setups. Currently, this model is offered exclusively without Power over Ethernet (PoE). The Mercury 2 series includes advanced capabilities such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image inversion, and digital shifting. This particular model is suitable for applications that meet these criteria:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable runs up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and simple cable installation
- Compact size: 29x29x29mm
- Optional hardware trigger support
For additional technical details, please refer to the GigE vision camera manual.
MTBF, warranty & product life cycle
Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality controls. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras carry TÜV Rheinland certification and include a 3-year warranty. Following release, each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years, with many models supported for significantly longer periods. Color industrial camera
Industrial color cameras utilize a Bayer filter array to generate color images. The RGB value for each pixel is computed by combining the pixel s intensity with those of adjacent pixels. This process results in images that are generally less sharp compared to monochrome cameras.
Because of the RGB filter, each pixel captures approximately 66% fewer photons under white light conditions than a monochrome sensor. Consequently, color cameras have reduced light sensitivity relative to monochrome models. To address this, the following adjustments can be made: - Enhance illumination
- Raise the gain setting
- Extend shutter speed or exposure time
- Choose a sensor with higher light sensitivity
- Select a lens optimized for better light transmission
Color industrial cameras are preferred when capturing color information is essential for the application.
industrial GigE camera without PoE
Power for an industrial GigE camera without PoE is delivered through the I/O connector. This standard GigE camera variant offers a lower cost and reduced heat generation. It is also more compact than PoE-enabled versions due to fewer hardware components. Using an industrial GigE camera without PoE always necessitates an I/O cable connection.
