MONOCHROME INDUSTRIAL CAMERA

A monochrome camera, also called a black and white camera, brings benefits across numerous industrial applications. While color cameras dominate the security sector, black and white cameras are preferred in industrial environments due to their enhanced light sensitivity, sharper image output, and reduced data volume compared to color imaging. These characteristics make them highly suitable for image analysis tasks. By choosing the appropriate lighting wavelength and lens filter, a monochrome camera can maximize its performance, producing high-contrast, high-resolution images.

POE INDUSTRIAL CAMERA

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for GigE cameras enables simultaneous delivery of power and data through a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies wiring and shortens setup time in scenarios where hardware triggering or I/O signals are not necessary. For applications requiring I/O functionality, powering the camera via an I/O connector is recommended. Cameras powered by PoE consume more energy and generate additional heat compared to those powered through I/O connectors. PoE-enabled GigE cameras are physically larger than their non-PoE counterparts due to an added PCB that separates Ethernet power from data signals and steps down voltage. This extra circuitry increases cost, but the main advantage is streamlined installation with fewer cables.
