This particular model is suitable if your requirements include:
- An industrial-grade imaging device
- Cable runs up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Single-cable connection for data and power
- Compact dimensions of 29x29x50.6mm
For further technical details, please refer to the MER3 2.5GigE manual.

Monochrome SWIR Industrial Camera

A monochrome SWIR camera, also called a Visible-SWIR camera, provides benefits across several applications. Typically, visible light covers wavelengths from 400nm to 780nm, while infrared light spans from 780nm to 1000 m. Within the infrared range, the band closest to visible light is known as Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR). Sony's IMX991 SWIR sensor is engineered to detect wavelengths extending from visible light through the SWIR spectrum. This camera captures detailed image data across a range of 400nm to 1700nm. The MER3-033-262G3M-P-SWIR can substitute the conventional dual-camera setup that combines visible light and SWIR imaging, thereby lowering costs, accelerating processing, and broadening detection capabilities.

Monochrome SWIR GigE cameras find applications in areas such as:

  • Semiconductor inspection, enabling identification of defects invisible in the visible spectrum.
  • Examination of products in humid environments, since water absorbs light at 1450nm making it opaque at that wavelength.
  • Material differentiation, for example distinguishing plastics from metals which appear similar under visible light but differ in infrared reflectance and absorption.
For comprehensive information on the monochrome SWIR camera, please consult the industrial GigE Vision camera manual.

POE INDUSTRIAL CAMERA

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for GigE cameras delivers both electrical power and data transmission via a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies wiring and reduces installation time in scenarios where hardware triggering or I/O signals are unnecessary. If I/O functionality is required, powering the camera through an I/O connector is recommended. PoE operation results in higher power consumption and increased heat generation compared to I/O-powered configurations. Cameras with PoE are physically larger due to an additional PCB that separates power from the Ethernet signal and steps down voltage. This extra hardware increases cost relative to non-PoE versions. The main advantage of PoE is streamlined installation with fewer cables needed.

MTBF, WARRANTY & PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failure (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras hold TÜV Rheinland certification and include a 3-year warranty. Each model remains available for a minimum of 7 years after launch. Many models have significantly longer lifespans.
