VA Imaging MER2-630-18GM-VA 1/1.8" Monochrome CMOS (Sony IMX178) Camera, 6.3 Megapixels, 3088 x 2064, 18 fps, Rolling Shutter, C-Mount, GigE Vision Output
GigE Vision Camera IMX178
The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup represents an industrial-grade vision camera equipped with a GigE connection. GigE remains the predominant interface for cameras in conventional machine vision environments. Currently, this camera model does not support Power over Ethernet (PoE). The Mercury 2 series includes sophisticated capabilities such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image inversion, and digital shifting. This particular model is suitable if your application meets the following criteria:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable length up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Compact dimensions of 29x29x29mm
- Optional hardware trigger support
For additional information, please refer to the industrial GigE Vision camera manual.
MTBF, warranty & product life cycle
Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually under stringent quality controls. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras are TÜV Rheinland certified and come with a 3-year warranty. Each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years following its market release, with many models supported for significantly longer. Monochrome industrial camera
A monochrome camera, also called a black and white camera, provides benefits across various industrial applications. While color cameras dominate the security sector, black and white cameras are preferred in industrial settings due to their higher light sensitivity, enhanced image sharpness, and reduced data volume compared to color cameras. These features make them well-suited for image processing tasks. Choosing the appropriate lighting wavelength and lens filtering allows emphasizing specific product features, enabling the capture of high-contrast, high-resolution images using monochrome cameras.
Industrial camera without PoE
Power for an industrial GigE camera lacking PoE is delivered through the I/O connector. Cameras without PoE are more cost-effective and produce less heat. They also have a smaller form factor since they require fewer components than PoE-enabled versions. Using an industrial GigE camera without PoE necessitates connecting an I/O cable.
