Industrial USB 3.0 Vision camera with 90 degree head IMX178

The Mercury2 USB3.0 camera is a professional industrial vision device featuring a USB 3.0 connection and a 90 degree angled camera head. USB 3.0 provides an effective interface for cameras with high resolution and rapid frame rates. This connection type is well suited for embedded systems like Raspberry Pi (version 4 or newer), NVIDIA platforms, as well as conventional PCs.
This particular industrial vision camera is ideal if your requirements include:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable length up to 4.5 meters (extendable to 10 meters with optical USB3 cable)
- Single cable connection for device operation
- Compact form factor enabled by the 90 degree right angle head
- Compatibility with x86 computers and embedded ARM V7 & ARM V8 platforms
- Support for hardware triggering (requires I/O cable)

MTBF, warranty & product life cycle

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras hold TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a 3-year warranty. Each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years following its market release, with many models supported for significantly longer periods. Industrial monochrome / black&white camera

A monochrome or black and white camera delivers benefits across numerous industrial applications. While color cameras dominate sectors like security and telecommunications, industrial environments leverage the strengths of black and white sensors. These cameras offer up to three times greater sensitivity to light, produce sharper images, and generate less data compared to color models, which facilitates image processing. By choosing appropriate colored illumination and lens filters, enhanced image contrast can be achieved. The industrial monochrome camera captures images with superior contrast and resolution.

I/O port for hardwaretrigger, strobecontrol or PLC communication

The USB camera s I/O interface utilizes an 8-pin HR25 Hirose connector, a common standard within the industrial machine vision field. This camera includes an input port for hardware triggering. Its output can activate external devices such as industrial machine vision lighting. Additionally, the camera provides two GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) pins programmable via our SDK. Electrical wiring diagrams for the I/O connector are available in the manual. You may also find useful insights in our article: hardware triggering multiple industrial cameras.
