GigE Vision Camera IMX265

The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup represents a professional industrial vision solution featuring a GigE connection. GigE remains the preferred interface in many conventional machine vision systems. The Mercury 2 series includes enhanced capabilities such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image reversal, and digital shifting. This specific model suits your needs if your application meets the following criteria:
- An industrial-grade imaging device
- Cable length up to 100 meters supported
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Single-cable connection when utilizing PoE
- Physical dimensions: 29x29x29mm (without PoE), 29x29x40.3mm (with PoE)
- Optional support for hardware triggering

For additional technical information, please refer to the industrial GigE Vision camera manual.

MTBF, warranty & product life cycle

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (approximately 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras hold TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a 3-year warranty. Each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years following its market release, with many models supported for considerably longer periods. Monochrome industrial camera

Monochrome cameras, also called black and white cameras, provide distinct benefits across multiple applications. While color cameras dominate the security sector, industrial environments often prefer monochrome cameras for their superior light sensitivity, enhanced image sharpness, and reduced data volume compared to color imaging. This makes them particularly well-suited for image processing tasks. By carefully selecting illumination wavelengths and lens filters, a monochrome camera can leverage its unique properties effectively. Industrial monochrome cameras produce images with high contrast and fine resolution.

Industrial camera with PoE

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for GigE cameras enables simultaneous power delivery and data transfer via a single standard Ethernet cable. This simplifies wiring and reduces installation time in scenarios where hardware triggering or I/O is not necessary. For applications requiring I/O functionality, powering the camera through an I/O connector is recommended. Cameras powered by PoE consume more energy and generate additional heat compared to those powered via I/O connectors. PoE-equipped GigE cameras have a larger form factor due to an extra PCB that isolates power from the Ethernet signal and steps down voltage. This additional hardware increases cost relative to non-PoE versions. The primary advantage of PoE is streamlined installation with fewer cables needed.
