VA Imaging MER2-231-41GC-VA 1/1.2" Color CMOS (Sony IMX249) Camera, 2.3 Megapixels, 1920 x 1200, 41 fps, Global Shutter, C-Mount, GigE Vision Output
GigE Vision Camera IMX249
The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup represents a professional industrial vision camera equipped with a GigE interface. GigE remains the predominant connection standard in conventional machine vision setups. Currently, this camera model is offered exclusively without Power over Ethernet (PoE). The Mercury 2 series incorporates advanced capabilities such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image reversal, and digital shifting. This particular model is suitable for applications that meet the following criteria:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable runs up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Compact dimensions of 29x29x29mm
- Optional support for hardware triggering
For further technical details, please refer to the GigE vision camera manual.
MTBF, warranty & product life cycle
Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality protocols. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours, equating to approximately 45 years of continuous operation. These industrial cameras hold TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a three-year warranty. Each model remains available for a minimum of seven years following its market release, with many maintaining an even longer lifecycle. Additional insights into our product life cycle management can be found in this article.
Color industrial camera
A color industrial camera utilizes a Bayer filter array to generate color images. The RGB color value for each pixel is computed by analyzing the pixel s value along with those of its adjacent pixels. This process typically produces images that are less sharp compared to those captured by monochrome cameras.
Because of the RGB filter overlay, each pixel, under white light, captures roughly 66% fewer photons than a monochrome sensor. This results in lower sensitivity to light for color cameras relative to monochrome ones. To address this, the following adjustments can be made: - Enhance the illumination
- Increase the camera gain
- Extend shutter speed or exposure duration
- Choose a sensor with higher light sensitivity
- Select a lens optimized for greater light transmission
Color industrial cameras are preferred in scenarios where capturing color details is essential.
industrial GigE camera without PoE
Power for an industrial GigE camera without PoE is delivered through the I/O connector. This standard GigE configuration is more cost-effective and produces less heat. The camera s form factor is more compact compared to PoE-enabled versions due to reduced hardware requirements. Using an industrial GigE camera without PoE always necessitates an I/O cable connection.
