GigE Vision Camera e2v EV76C570

The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup is a professional industrial vision solution featuring a GigE interface. GigE remains the predominant connection standard in conventional machine vision systems. The Mercury 2 series includes sophisticated functions such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image reversal, and digital shifting. This particular model is suitable if your requirements include:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable runs up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Compact dimensions measuring 29x29x40.3mm
- Optional support for hardware triggering

For further technical details, please refer to the industrial GigE Vision camera manual.

MTBF, warranty & product life cycle

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras carry TUV Rheinland certification and include a 3-year warranty. Each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years post-launch, with many models supported for even longer periods. Additional information about our product life cycle management can be found in this article.

Monochrome industrial camera

A monochrome or black and white camera delivers benefits across various industrial applications. While color cameras dominate the security sector, black and white cameras are preferred in industrial environments due to their higher light sensitivity, sharper image output, and reduced data volume compared to color cameras. This makes them especially suitable for image processing tasks. By choosing appropriate illumination colors and lens filters, a monochrome camera can exploit these characteristics effectively. The result is high-contrast, high-resolution images ideal for industrial use.

Industrial camera with PoE

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for GigE cameras enables simultaneous transmission of power and data over a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies wiring and cuts down installation time in setups where hardware triggering or I/O is not necessary. If I/O functionality is required, powering the camera through an I/O connector is recommended. PoE operation consumes more power and generates additional heat compared to powering via the I/O connector. Cameras equipped with PoE are physically larger due to an extra PCB that isolates Ethernet power from data signals and steps down voltage. This additional hardware increases cost relative to non-PoE versions. The key advantage of PoE is the simplified installation process, requiring fewer cables.
