VA Imaging MER2-2000-6GM-P-VA 1" Monochrome CMOS (Sony IMX183) Camera, 20 Megapixels, 5496 x 3672, 6 fps, Rolling Shutter, C-Mount, GigE Vision Output
GigE Vision Camera IMX183
The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup represents a professional industrial vision solution featuring a GigE connection. GigE remains the standard interface for cameras in conventional machine vision systems. The Mercury 2 series incorporates advanced functionalities such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image reversal, and digital shifting. This particular model suits your needs if your application meets these criteria:
- Industrial-grade camera
- Cable runs up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable setup
- Physical size of 29x29x40.3mm
- Optional support for hardware triggering

MTBF, warranty & product life cycle
Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually adhering to stringent quality protocols. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (approximately 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras are TÜV Rheinland certified and come with a 3-year warranty. Post-launch, each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years, with many models supported for significantly longer. Monochrome industrial camera
A monochrome camera, commonly referred to as a black and white camera, offers specific advantages across numerous applications. While color cameras dominate the security sector, industrial environments benefit from monochrome cameras heightened light sensitivity, sharper imagery, and reduced data volume compared to color models. These attributes make them particularly suitable for image analysis tasks. By choosing the appropriate lighting wavelength and lens filtration, product features can be accentuated, enabling the capture of high-resolution, high-contrast images using monochrome cameras.
Industrial camera with PoE
Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for GigE cameras enables simultaneous power delivery and data transmission through a single Ethernet cable. This approach minimizes cabling requirements and installation complexity in scenarios where hardware triggering or I/O signals are unnecessary. For applications needing I/O functionality, powering the camera via an I/O connector is recommended. Cameras powered by PoE consume more energy than those powered through I/O connectors and generate additional heat. PoE-enabled GigE cameras are physically larger than their non-PoE counterparts due to an additional PCB that isolates power from data signals and steps down voltage. This extra hardware increases cost compared to standard models. The primary benefit of PoE is simplified installation by reducing cable quantity.
