GigE Vision Camera Python1300

The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup is designed for industrial vision applications, featuring a GigE interface. GigE remains the predominant interface for cameras in conventional machine vision systems. The Mercury 2 models include advanced capabilities such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image reversal, and digital shifting. This particular model suits your needs if your application meets these criteria:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable runs up to 100 meters
- Affordable and straightforward cable installation
- Compact dimensions of 29x29x40.3mm
- Optional hardware trigger support

For further technical details, please refer to the GigE vision camera manual.

MTBF, warranty & product life cycle

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failure (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras carry TÜV Rheinland certification and include a 3-year warranty. Each model remains available for a minimum of 7 years following its market release, with many products supported for significantly longer periods. Color industrial camera

Industrial color cameras utilize a Bayer filter array to generate color images. The RGB value for each pixel is derived by combining the pixel s own data with that of surrounding pixels. This process typically results in images that are less sharp compared to monochrome cameras.
Because of the RGB filter, each pixel captures approximately 66% fewer photons under white light conditions than a monochrome sensor, reducing light sensitivity. To address this limitation, the following adjustments can be made: - Enhance illumination
- Increase camera gain
- Extend shutter speed or exposure duration
- Choose a sensor with higher light sensitivity
- Opt for a lens with greater light transmission
Color industrial cameras are preferred in scenarios where capturing color information is essential.

Industrial GigE camera with PoE

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for GigE cameras supplies both electrical power and data through a single Ethernet cable. This setup minimizes cable requirements and simplifies installation in systems that do not need hardware triggering or I/O connections. For applications requiring I/O, powering the camera via an I/O connector is recommended. PoE operation results in higher power consumption and increased heat generation compared to I/O-powered configurations. Cameras equipped with PoE are physically larger due to an additional PCB that separates Ethernet power from data and converts voltage levels. This extra hardware increases cost relative to non-PoE versions. The main benefit of PoE is streamlined installation with fewer cables needed.
