GigE Vision Camera Featuring IMX226

The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup represents an industrial-grade vision camera equipped with a GigE connection. GigE is widely adopted as the standard interface for cameras in conventional machine vision setups. The Mercury 2 series offers advanced functionalities such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image reversal, and digital shifting. This specific model is suitable if your requirements include:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable runs up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Physical dimensions of 29x29x40.3mm
- Optional support for hardware triggering

MTBF, Warranty, and Product Longevity

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually under stringent quality controls. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras hold TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a 3-year warranty. Post-launch, each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years, with many models supported for significantly longer. Monochrome Industrial Camera

A monochrome, or black and white, camera delivers benefits across diverse applications. While color cameras dominate the security sector, industrial environments often prefer monochrome cameras due to their enhanced light sensitivity, sharper image quality, and reduced data volume compared to color sensors. These attributes make them particularly well-suited for image processing tasks. By choosing the appropriate illumination wavelength and lens filtration, specific product features can be accentuated, enabling the capture of high-resolution, high-contrast images with a monochrome camera.

Industrial Camera with Power over Ethernet (PoE)

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for GigE cameras delivers both electrical power and data transmission through a single Ethernet cable. This approach minimizes cable complexity and installation time in scenarios where hardware triggering or I/O connectivity is not necessary. When input/output functionality is required, powering the camera via an I/O connector is recommended. Cameras powered by PoE typically consume more power than those supplied through an I/O connector and generate additional heat. PoE-enabled GigE cameras are physically larger than their non-PoE counterparts due to an extra PCB that isolates power from the Ethernet signal and steps down voltage. This additional hardware increases cost compared to models without PoE. The primary benefit of PoE is simplified installation, requiring fewer cables.
