GigE Vision Camera XGS12000

The ME2S GigE Vision Camera lineup represents an industrial-grade vision camera equipped with a GigE Vision interface. GigE remains the predominant connection standard for cameras used in conventional machine vision environments. This GigE Vision Camera series suits applications that meet the following criteria:
- Compact design with high-resolution global shutter
- Cable lengths supporting up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Single-cable connection for the industrial camera
- Enhanced image processing capabilities

For additional information, please refer to the ME2S GigE Vision camera manual.

MTBF, warranty & product life cycle

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failure (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras carry TÜV Rheinland certification and include a 3-year warranty. Each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years following market release, with many models sustaining even longer lifespans. Industrial Color Camera

A color industrial camera utilizes a Bayer filter pattern to generate color images. The RGB value for each pixel is computed by combining the pixel s value with those of its neighboring pixels. This process typically leads to images that are less sharp compared to those produced by monochrome cameras.

Because of the RGB filter applied to each pixel, under white light conditions, every pixel receives approximately 66% fewer photons than a monochrome sensor. Consequently, color cameras exhibit lower light sensitivity than monochrome ones. To address this, the following adjustments can be made:
- Increase illumination intensity
- Raise the gain setting
- Extend shutter speed or exposure time
- Choose a sensor with higher light sensitivity
- Opt for a lens with improved light-gathering capability

Industrial camera with PoE

Power over Ethernet (PoE) for GigE technology enables simultaneous transmission of power and data through a single standard Ethernet cable. This approach minimizes cable requirements and installation duration in scenarios where hardware triggering or I/O signals are unnecessary. For applications demanding I/O functionality, powering the camera via an I/O connector is recommended. Cameras consume more power when operating with PoE compared to I/O connector power supply, resulting in additional heat generation. PoE-enabled GigE cameras are physically larger than their non-PoE counterparts due to the inclusion of an extra PCB that separates Ethernet power from data signals and converts voltage to lower levels. This additional hardware increases cost relative to non-PoE versions. The primary advantage of PoE is simplified installation by reducing cable complexity.
