2.5GIGE VISION CAMERA IMX546

The MER3-800-36G3C-P belongs to the MER3 2.5GigE lineup. It is an industrial-grade GigE vision camera featuring a 2.5GigE connection. GigE remains the predominant interface for cameras in conventional machine vision setups. The MER3 series offers high-resolution options equipped with global shutter sensors.
This particular model is well-suited if your application meets the following criteria:

- An industrial camera requirement
- Cable length up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Single cable connection for device integration
- Physical dimensions: 29x29x50.6mm

For additional information, please refer to the MER3 2.5GigE user manual.

COLOR INDUSTRIAL CAMERA

An industrial color camera utilizes a Bayer filter array to generate color images. The RGB value for each pixel is computed by combining the pixel s own data with that of adjacent pixels. This process results in images that are less sharp compared to those captured by monochrome cameras.
Because of the RGB filter overlay, each pixel receives approximately 66% fewer photons under white light conditions than a monochrome sensor. This makes color cameras inherently less sensitive to light. To address this limitation, the following adjustments can be made:

- Enhance illumination intensity
- Increase sensor gain
- Extend shutter speed or exposure duration
- Choose a sensor with higher light sensitivity
- Use a lens optimized for greater light transmission

Color industrial cameras are preferred in scenarios where capturing color details is essential.

POE INDUSTRIAL CAMERA

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for GigE cameras delivers both electrical power and data through a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies wiring and reduces setup time in applications that do not require hardware triggering or I/O connections. When I/O functionality is necessary, it is recommended to power the camera via the dedicated I/O connector. Cameras powered through PoE consume more power and generate additional heat compared to those powered through the I/O interface. PoE-enabled GigE cameras are physically larger due to an additional PCB that separates power from the Ethernet signal and converts voltage levels. This extra hardware increases the cost relative to non-PoE models. The main benefit of PoE is the simplified installation process, requiring fewer cables.

MTBF, WARRANTY & PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (approximately 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras hold TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a 3-year warranty. Each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years following its market release, with many models supported for significantly longer periods.
