COLOR INDUSTRIAL CAMERA
This industrial color camera utilizes a Bayer filter array to generate color images. The RGB values for each pixel are derived by processing the pixel s value along with those of its neighboring pixels. This approach typically results in images that are less sharp compared to monochrome cameras.
Because of the RGB filter on each pixel, under white light conditions, every pixel captures approximately 66% fewer photons than a monochrome sensor, making color cameras less sensitive to light. To address this limitation, the following adjustments can be made:
- Enhance illumination intensity
- Increase sensor gain
- Extend shutter speed or exposure duration
- Choose a sensor with higher light sensitivity
- Opt for a lens designed for better light transmission
Color industrial cameras are preferred in scenarios where capturing color details is essential.
POE INDUSTRIAL CAMERA
Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for GigE enables simultaneous delivery of power and data through a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies wiring and reduces setup time in applications that do not require hardware triggers or I/O connections. For applications needing I/O functionality, powering the camera via an I/O connector is recommended. Cameras powered by PoE consume more power and generate additional heat compared to those powered through I/O connectors. The PoE-enabled GigE camera is physically larger than its non-PoE counterpart due to an extra PCB that separates Ethernet power from data signals and steps down voltage. This additional hardware increases cost. The main benefit of PoE is streamlined installation with fewer cables.
