VA Imaging MER2-503-23GC-VA 2/3" Color CMOS (Sony IMX264) Camera, 5 Megapixels, 2448 x 2048, 23 fps, Global Shutter, C-Mount, GigE Vision Output
GigE Vision Camera IMX264
The Mercury 2 GigE camera lineup features industrial-grade vision cameras equipped with a GigE interface. GigE remains the predominant connection type for cameras in conventional machine vision setups. The Mercury 2 series incorporates advanced capabilities such as decimation, binning, pixel skipping, image reversal, and digital shifting. This particular model is suitable if your requirements include:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable lengths up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Compact dimensions of 29x29x29mm
- Support for optional hardware triggering
For further technical details, please refer to the GigE vision camera manual.
MTBF, warranty & product life cycle
Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras carry TÜV Rheinland certification and include a 3-year warranty. Each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years following its market release, with many models supported for significantly longer. Color industrial camera
Industrial color cameras utilize a Bayer filter array to generate color images. The RGB value for each pixel is computed by combining the pixel s own data with that of its surrounding pixels. This process results in images that are generally less sharp compared to those from monochrome cameras.
Because of the RGB filter on each pixel, under white light conditions, individual pixels capture approximately 66% fewer photons than monochrome sensors, reducing light sensitivity. To address this limitation, consider the following approaches: - Enhance illumination levels
- Increase sensor gain
- Extend shutter speed or exposure duration
- Choose a sensor with higher light sensitivity
- Use a lens designed for greater light transmission
Color industrial cameras are preferred in scenarios where capturing color information is critical.
Industrial GigE camera without PoE
Power for an industrial GigE camera without PoE is delivered through the I/O connector. This standard GigE camera model is more cost-effective and produces less heat. It is also more compact than PoE-enabled versions due to reduced hardware requirements. Using an industrial GigE camera without PoE necessitates an I/O cable connection at all times.
