90-Degree Head Industrial USB 3.0 Vision Camera Featuring IMX249

The Mercury2 USB 3.0 camera is designed for industrial vision applications, equipped with a USB 3.0 interface and a 90-degree angled camera head. USB 3.0 provides an ideal connection for cameras requiring high resolution and fast data transfer rates. This interface is well suited for embedded systems such as Raspberry Pi (version 4 or newer), NVIDIA platforms, as well as standard PC environments.
This industrial vision camera model is suitable for your needs if your setup includes the following criteria:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable length up to 4.5 meters (or up to 10 meters with an optical USB3 cable)
- Single-cable connectivity
- Compact form factor enabled by the 90-degree right angle head
- Compatibility with x86 computers and embedded ARM V7 & ARM V8 platforms
- Support for hardware triggering (requires I/O cable)

MTBF, Warranty, and Product Longevity

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras hold TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a 3-year warranty. Each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years post-launch, with many models supported for significantly longer periods. Monochrome Industrial Camera

A monochrome camera, also called a black and white camera, offers specific benefits across various industrial applications. While consumer markets such as security and telecommunications often emphasize color cameras, industrial applications leverage the advantages of monochrome sensors. These cameras exhibit up to three times greater sensitivity to light, deliver sharper images, and reduce data volume compared to color cameras. This makes them highly effective for image processing tasks. By choosing appropriate color lighting and lens filters, enhanced image contrast can be achieved. The industrial monochrome camera produces images with superior contrast and resolution.

I/O Interface for Hardware Triggering, Strobe Control, and PLC Communication

The USB camera s I/O interface utilizes an 8-pin HR25 Hirose connector, a common standard in industrial machine vision. This model includes an input port that functions as a hardware trigger for camera activation. The output port can be used to control external devices such as industrial machine vision lighting. Additionally, the camera provides two GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) pins programmable via our SDK. Electrical wiring diagrams for the I/O connector are included in the manual.
