Industrial USB 3.0 Vision camera IMX273

The Mercury2 USB3.0 camera is designed as an industrial vision solution featuring a USB 3.0 connection. USB 3.0 provides an ideal interface for cameras demanding high resolution and rapid data transfer rates. This connection type is well-suited for embedded systems like Raspberry Pi (version 4 or newer), NVIDIA platforms, and conventional PCs.
This model is particularly relevant if your requirements include:
- An industrial-grade camera
- Cable lengths up to 4.5 meters (extendable to 10 meters with optical USB3 cable)
- Single-cable connectivity
- Compact form factor (29x29x29mm)
- Compatibility with x86 computers and embedded ARM V7 & ARM V8 platforms
- Support for hardware triggering (requires I/O cable)

MTBF, warranty & product life cycle

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality protocols. The mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras carry TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a 3-year warranty. Each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years post-launch, with many models supported for longer durations. Additional details on our product life cycle management can be found in this article.

Industrial monochrome / black&white camera

A monochrome camera, also referred to as a black and white camera, provides distinct benefits across various industrial applications. While color cameras dominate sectors like security and telecommunications, industrial use cases often favor black and white sensors. These cameras offer up to three times greater light sensitivity, deliver sharper images, and reduce data volume compared to color cameras. This makes them highly suitable for image processing tasks. By choosing the appropriate lighting wavelength and lens filtering, specific product features can be accentuated, enabling the capture of high-contrast, high-resolution images using monochrome cameras.

I/O port for hardwaretrigger, strobecontrol or PLC communication

The USB camera s I/O interface uses an 8-pin HR25 Hirose connector, a common standard in industrial machine vision. This camera includes an input for hardware triggering to control image capture. Its output can be employed to activate lighting equipment, such as industrial vision illumination. Additionally, the camera offers two programmable GPIO pins accessible via our SDK. Electrical wiring diagrams for the I/O connector are available in the manual. For further insights, see our article: hardware triggering multiple industrial cameras.

If the I/O port is not required, the camera can be ordered without it. For bulk orders, this option reduces the camera s cost by 10. The minimum purchase quantity for cameras without I/O is 10 units. Please contact us if you wish to order the industrial USB3 camera without I/O.
