GigE Vision Camera GMAX2518
The Mercury 2 Pro GigE Vision Camera lineup represents an industrial-grade vision camera equipped with a GigE Vision interface. This series integrates high-resolution, low-noise global shutter sensors within a compact enclosure. GigE remains the prevalent interface for cameras used in conventional machine vision tasks. The ME2P series offers sophisticated functionalities. Should you require clarification on specific features or their implementation, please reach out to us for verification. Additionally, it supports "remove parameter limit" functionality to broaden exposure, gain, white balance, and other settings. Exposure durations can extend up to 10 seconds.
The GigE Vision Camera series is suitable for applications that meet the following criteria:
- Compact, high-resolution global shutter camera
- Cable runs up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable setup
- Single-cable connection for the industrial camera
- Enhanced image processing capabilities
For further technical details, please refer to the ME2P GigE Vision camera manual.
MTBF, warranty & product life cycle
Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to rigorous quality protocols. The mean time between failure (MTBF) exceeds 400,000 hours (equivalent to 45 years of continuous operation). These industrial cameras carry TÜV Rheinland certification and include a 3-year warranty. Following their release, each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years, with many models supported for significantly longer periods. Additional information regarding our product life cycle management is available in this article.
Industrial Color Camera
A color camera employs a Bayer filter array to generate color images. The RGB values for each pixel are computed by analyzing the pixel s intensity along with that of adjacent pixels. This process yields images that are generally less sharp compared to monochrome cameras. Because of the RGB filter, each pixel captures up to approximately 66% fewer photons under white light conditions than a monochrome pixel, resulting in lower light sensitivity. To address this limitation, you can:
- Increase illumination
- Raise the gain setting
- Extend shutter speed or exposure time
- Choose a sensor with higher light sensitivity
- Use a lens optimized for better light gathering
Unlike standard security cameras or webcams, industrial color cameras feature larger, more light-sensitive pixels, delivering superior image quality.
Advanced vision camera features
The ME2P GigE Vision camera series offers both fundamental and enhanced functionalities, including:
- Programmable region of interest (ROI) to boost frame rates via partial scanning
- Adjustable gain, exposure, and white balance (white balance applicable only to color models)
- Support for automatic gain, exposure, and white balance controls (auto white balance exclusive to color versions)
- Four acquisition modes: single frame, continuous, software-triggered, and external-triggered capture
- Compliance with GenICam and GigE Vision standards, enabling compatibility with numerous third-party software packages such as HALCON and LabVIEW
- Multiple sampling options and a user-friendly SDK compatible with diverse development environments
- Certifications including CE, RoHS, GenICam, and GigE Vision
These comprehensive features make the ME2P GigE Vision camera series an excellent option for demanding image processing applications.
