GigE Vision Camera IMX342

The Mars GigE lineup consists of industrial-grade vision cameras equipped with a GigE interface. GigE remains the prevalent interface for cameras in conventional machine vision setups. The Mars series exclusively offers high-resolution global shutter sensors.
This particular model is suitable if your application meets the following criteria:
- Industrial camera requirements
- Cable runs up to 100 meters
- Cost-effective and straightforward cable installation
- Single-cable connection to the device
- Physical dimensions: 62x62x52.1mm
- Optional support for hardware triggering

Warranty & Product Life Cycle

Daheng Imaging manufactures over 100,000 industrial cameras annually, adhering to stringent quality standards. These cameras hold TÜV Rheinland certification and come with a 3-year warranty. Each camera model remains available for a minimum of 7 years following its market release, with many models supported for significantly longer periods. Industrial Color Camera

A color camera employs a Bayer filter array to generate color images. The RGB value for each pixel is computed by combining the pixel’s value with those of its neighbors. This process results in images that are generally less sharp compared to monochrome cameras.
Because of the RGB filter on each pixel, under white light conditions, a color pixel typically receives about 66% fewer photons than a monochrome pixel, making color cameras less sensitive to light. To address this limitation, you can:
- Increase illumination
- Raise the gain setting
- Extend shutter speed or exposure time
- Choose a sensor with higher light sensitivity
- Opt for a lens with greater light transmission

PoE Industrial Vision Camera

Power over Ethernet (PoE) for GigE enables simultaneous delivery of power and data through a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies wiring and reduces installation time, especially in applications without hardware trigger or I/O requirements. If I/O functionality is needed, powering the camera via an I/O connector is recommended. Cameras consume more power when operated via PoE compared to I/O power, resulting in increased heat generation. PoE-equipped GigE cameras are physically larger than their non-PoE counterparts due to an additional PCB that isolates power from the Ethernet signal and converts voltage levels. This extra hardware increases cost relative to non-PoE models. The main benefit of PoE is simplified installation by minimizing cable count.
